First Chicago Insurance Company (FCIC) is excited to announce the establishment of a new Claims office. We are looking for seasoned professionals in the field of auto bodily injury claims to enhance our team.

The selected Bodily Injury Claims Specialist will be tasked with the thorough investigation and resolution of automobile bodily injury claims. This role involves managing intricate liability claims that necessitate extensive investigation and verification, as well as handling casualty claims that may involve severe injuries leading to prolonged disability or litigation related to coverage.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and determine the appropriate course of action for each assigned file, leveraging technical expertise to support the final resolution of a claim.
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations while maintaining accurate documentation of all activities related to each claim, including coverage, liability status, and applicable damages.
  • Process bodily injury and coverage claims in alignment with established office protocols.
  • Collaborate closely with third parties, legal representatives, and senior management to identify necessary investigations regarding injuries and coverage.
  • Research relevant case law and statutory regulations to ensure thorough claim investigations.
  • Document policy details, coverage, liability, and damages for all claims, and communicate with re-insurers on qualifying cases.
  • Prepare and present evaluations of claims for the appropriate settlement authority.
  • Maintain reasonable expense management.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in casualty claims is essential.
  • Familiarity with legal and medical terminology is required.
  • Strong negotiation, communication, writing, organizational, and interpersonal skills are necessary.
  • Ability to successfully complete written examinations as mandated by state regulations to obtain a claims adjuster license.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is expected.
