Position Overview

Heimerl & Lammers Law Firm is committed to providing exceptional family law services to individuals in need. Our dedicated team of attorneys and legal assistants work collaboratively to support clients during challenging times, fostering a positive and productive workplace.

We are currently in search of a Legal Assistant with a minimum of 1+ years of experience in drafting legal documents, client consultations, administrative support, and case oversight. The ideal candidate will possess outstanding communication and analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, a positive demeanor, and a readiness to assist in various capacities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive legal and administrative assistance
  • Draft and oversee correspondence
  • Prepare legal documents and manage the discovery process
  • Engage with potential and current clients through various communication channels
  • Coordinate appointments and manage the attorney's schedule
  • File documents electronically with courts and manage records
  • Maintain the client database and organize client files
  • Execute basic administrative tasks such as scanning, mailing, and filing

Required Skills:

  • 1+ years of experience as a legal assistant in a family law environment
  • Formal training from an accredited paralegal program is preferred
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities
  • Ability to engage with clients in a respectful and compassionate manner
  • Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail
  • Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines
  • Proficiency in standard office equipment and software, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and familiarity with Clio is a plus
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating analytical and problem-solving skills as necessary
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and committed to maintaining client confidentiality
