Litigation Support Specialist Role

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee electronic submissions in both State and Federal Courts, as well as manage real estate documentation.
  • Field and manage incoming calls; maintain effective communication with clients.
  • Assist in the preparation of discovery responses and ensure legal documents are meticulously proofread.
  • Compose various correspondence, including letters and straightforward legal paperwork.
  • Coordinate scheduling for appointments, meetings, hearings, and interactions with vendors.
  • Organize and uphold legal files, ensuring they are accurate and easily accessible.
  • Support the drafting of commercial eviction notices and liaise with law enforcement and clients.
  • Manage retainer collections and address billing inquiries.
  • Transcribe dictations and prepare legal documents and correspondence.
  • Assist the Attorney in the creation of pleadings, briefs, contracts, and other legal materials.
  • Stay informed about case updates and critical deadlines.
  • Perform general administrative tasks such as filing, photocopying, and managing supplies.
  • Maintain records for Continuing Legal Education (CLE) and Lawyer Referral Information Service (LRIS).

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a Legal Assistant or Paralegal capacity, preferably within litigation.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, with advanced skills in utilizing styles and templates for legal document preparation.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Pro for document management and preparation is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of the Google Workspace suite for collaborative efforts and document sharing.
  • Strong organizational abilities to efficiently manage legal files, coordinate schedules, and support case management.
