About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Port Operations Manager to lead our port operations and drive strategic growth. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing effective port strategies to meet customer needs and improve operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop Drayage Capacity: Design and implement plans to increase drayage capacity and optimize container flow.
  • Port Diversification Strategy: Develop a comprehensive strategy to reduce dwell times at the port, improving overall efficiency.
  • Pricing and Prioritization: Establish a pricing structure and prioritization process to ensure sales targets are met while maximizing revenue.
  • Container Management: Oversee empty container and chassis management, ensuring seamless processes and minimal downtime.
  • Lead Time Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance overall lead times, streamlining our logistics operations.
  • Stakeholder Alignment: Foster connectivity and alignment between internal stakeholders, promoting a collaborative work environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all port operations adhere to federal, state, and local regulatory guidelines, maintaining compliance and minimizing risks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Experience: In Logistics, Transportation, Supply Chain, or a related field, with 8+ years of executive transportation leadership experience.
  • Proven Track Record: Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams, analyzing complex problems, and driving systemic solutions.
  • Financial Acumen: Proven understanding of financial policies and procedures, including auditing, budgeting, and financial reporting analysis.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft Excel, with expertise in building graphs, charts, and pivot tables.
  • Communication and Negotiation: Excellent communication skills and experience with contract negotiation.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to analyze data, perform problem-solving, and adapt to a fast-paced dynamic business environment.
