About the Role

The Altra Running Technical Representative is a highly motivated and self-driven individual who will lead and execute seasonal go-to-market and service strategies in all distribution channels within their assigned territory. This role will foster growth, excitement, and awareness within the community by conducting education, promotion, and merchandising tasks for Altra Running and its products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Retailers: Conduct in-person visits, demos, and sales floor partnerships to drive sales and brand awareness.
  • Product Presentations: Deliver clear and persuasive product presentations to educate and motivate retail staff and customers.
  • Community Engagement: Engage with community and retail partners to create excitement and brand awareness around Altra Running.
  • Merchandising and Promotions: Implement merchandising or promotional activations with product and point-of-purchase displays.
  • Smartwool Support: Provide education and product presentations at REI to support Smartwool sales.
  • Event Representation: Represent Altra Running at local and select national events, races, and expos.
  • Field Activity Reports: Complete detailed and accurate field activity reports via Repsly.
  • Field Asset Management: Maintain organization and appearance of field assets and demo shoes.
  • Fiscal Responsibility: Uphold fiscal responsibility by managing travel, expenses, promotional materials, and seeds.
  • Seasonal Strategies: Ensure in-field activities align with seasonal go-to-market strategies and sales goals established by the leadership team.
  • Service Planning: Strategize with Sales Reps to create a service plan to support brand growth in assigned territory.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other members of the Field Service Team to create and implement unique education initiatives and activations.
  • Feedback and Insights: Collect and relay feedback on Altra Running products, competitor brands, and industry trends.
  • Contribution to Growth: Bring your experience, ideas, and unique perspective to the team to contribute to the continued growth and success of Altra Running.
Requirements
  • Familiarity with Altra Running Products: Strong knowledge of Altra Running product lines.
  • Time Management and Planning: Excellent time management, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Independence and Teamwork: Ability to work well independently and within a team.
  • Consumer Engagement: Experience working directly with consumers, fitting, and selling technical footwear.
  • Microsoft Applications: Proficient in Microsoft applications, including Outlook.
  • Self-Motivation: Self-motivated with the desire to show initiative and be proactive.
  • Location Requirement: Reside in greater Salt Lake City, Utah, to better service the client base.
  • Territory: Territory includes travel to UT, WY, MT, and ID.
