Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maternal Fetal Medicine physician to join our team at the University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria. As a Maternal Fetal Medicine specialist, you will provide comprehensive health care to patients in both inpatient and ambulatory settings, including actively participating in the educational and clinical training of residents and medical students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide direct patient care in Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • Teach, train, mentor, and precept residents and medical students in the context of clinical Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • Consultative model allowing Maternal Fetal Medicine to attend deliveries if preferred but not required
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including APPs, sonographers, diabetes educators, perinatal nutritionists, and a genetic counselor
  • Develop and deliver academic presentations
  • Participate in shared call
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned
Requirements
  • MD or DO
  • Board-certified or board-eligible in Maternal Fetal Medicine
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure in the State of Illinois
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with mentoring and training residents and medical students
  • Demonstrated ability to produce scholarly activity

Academic offices are connected to a quaternary care hospital with a Level I Trauma Center, one of the most comprehensive neuroscience centers in the Midwest, and the largest children's hospital in downstate Illinois. Faculty also have access to a world-class medical simulation center.
