Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Care Specialist to join our team at Singh Development Company. As a Medical Care Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medication to residents according to their medical charts and protocols.
  • Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) for residents, including toileting, showering, and assisting with meals.
  • Participate in shift change meetings to communicate with oncoming associates regarding resident status or special needs.
  • Assist with janitorial tasks as needed.
  • Act as a shift supervisor to ensure resident care needs are being properly met.
  • Assist Caregivers during shifts with transfers and other duties as necessary.
  • Work with physicians and the pharmacy to ensure medication is ordered properly.
  • Report changes in resident medical conditions and behaviors to physicians, families, and community leadership.
  • Communicate effectively with multiple levels within and outside of the organization, including residents, families, Caregivers, Wellness Coordinator, Resident Care Manager, Wellness Nurses, pharmacies, and doctors.
  • Provide emotional support to residents by treating them with respect, dignity, and maintaining a positive and cheerful appearance.
  • Promote safety and well-being of residents through the use of written and verbal procedures, safety equipment, and awareness of potential dangers.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • In North Carolina, CNA is required.
  • Caregiving or Med Tech experience is required.
  • Experience working with the elderly and those with memory impairment is required.
Physical Requirements
  • Constant use of manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills, and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
  • Associates in this role are occasionally exposed to hot water and cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, push, and pull.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to perform repetitive movements, including simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Constant standing and walking.
