The Clinical Nursing Manager is responsible for supervising the daily clinical functions to ensure the delivery of high-quality care and services, adherence to regulatory standards, support for business expansion, achievement of performance metrics, and positive health outcomes. Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitates and participates in quality improvement meetings, reviews relevant data, identifies trends, and oversees the execution of improvement strategies.
  • Collaborates with the Branch Director to implement quality enhancement initiatives and corrective action plans.
  • Provides insights to Operations management regarding necessary modifications and updates related to care delivery.
  • Ensures all clinical personnel successfully complete orientation and required training.
  • Oversees and responds to internal and external audits and surveys concerning quality of care and clinical performance indicators in conjunction with operations leadership.
  • Acts as a resource with knowledge of payer requirements for care provision and documentation standards.
  • Conducts documentation and chart reviews to identify discrepancies in standardized care and processes, aiming for improved performance in patient care.
  • Leads case conferences to ensure oversight of care, coordination of services, and compliance with established standards.
  • Ensures documentation adheres to company standards to support quality assurance, coverage, and reimbursement.
  • Coordinates care with all parties involved in patient treatment.
  • Identifies discrepancies in standardized care processes to pinpoint areas for performance enhancement.
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory, payer, and company standards.
  • Facilitates the creation of performance improvement action plans based on available data (e.g., survey results, quality assurance, and clinical record reviews).
  • Achieves staff performance by communicating job expectations, planning, monitoring, and evaluating job results, coaching, counseling, and enforcing policies and productivity standards.
  • Oversees the recruitment and selection of clinical staff.
  • Conducts interviews and makes hiring decisions.
  • Ensures staff competency and performance evaluations are conducted fairly and timely.
  • Provides direct, on-site supervision for all staff as per company requirements.
  • Responsible for meeting organizational performance and retention goals among clinical staff.
  • Acts as a resource for field staff in problem-solving to ensure appropriate patient care.
  • Serves as a mentor and role model for all professional and direct-care staff.
  • Ensures sufficient preceptor staff are available for the development and mentoring of clinical and direct-care staff.
  • Ensures at least one preceptor clinician is trained to provide backup for the Clinical Manager role.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned, which may include patient visits and on-call responsibilities in case of staffing shortages.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or Physical Therapy from an accredited institution preferred.
  • Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) or Physical Therapist (PT) in good standing and currently licensed by the State.
  • Less than two years of clinical experience, with at least one year in a management or supervisory role in home health care.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Must meet all agency pre-employment requirements as mandated by the company and/or State regulations.
  • Ability to utilize company documentation systems.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written) with all levels of personnel, both internal and external to the company.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Capable of handling highly confidential information responsibly.
