Role ResponsibilitiesThe Food and Nutrition Services Clerk, under the guidance of the management team, is responsible for ensuring all cashiering, clerical, and administrative tasks are executed accurately and promptly. This role includes processing dietary orders, managing menus, and addressing patient requests. The Clerk also engages in various employee-related duties, including cashiering, serving, and food preparation, while consistently delivering exceptional customer service.
Clerical and Administrative Duties:
- Prepare and adjust patient menus according to dietary requirements.
- Record special food items as per departmental guidelines.
- Maintain essential records, including meal counts and patient lists.
- Keep accurate logs of telephone communications.
- Ensure timely availability of menus for meal service.
- Organize diet changes to facilitate efficient meal delivery.
Cashier Responsibilities:
- Operate the cash register, handling transactions, providing change, and balancing accounts after each meal.
- Prepare daily food items for the cafeteria.
- Manage cash handling according to hospital policies.
- Complete cash reports accurately after each meal service.
- Sanitize and stock work areas and equipment as needed.
- Report any food shortages to the supervisor promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness in all workspaces.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of one year of experience in healthcare food and nutrition services.
- Experience in clerical tasks.
- Ability to work in environments with exposure to blood and body fluids.
- Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
- This position primarily involves light physical work, with a maximum lifting requirement of 25 lbs. It necessitates frequent walking, standing, and maneuvering of patient tray carts.
