Overview
The Application Software Engineer plays a crucial role in crafting dependable, scalable, and efficient code within the Energy Worldnet, Inc. (EWN) ecosystem to enhance EWN's web platform.
In this capacity, the Application Software Engineer guarantees that the design and execution of functionalities align with business operations and uphold the stability, reliability, and performance of web applications, supporting EWN's strategic objectives through the latest development tools and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure system integrity through regular refactoring and optimization of C# and JavaScript, while maintaining and improving coding standards.
- Engage in project requirement discussions and collaborate with Product Managers, UX Engineers, and other team members regarding ongoing or upcoming processes, challenges, or requests.
- Investigate emerging technologies and share insights with the team, while documenting both new and existing workflows.
- Conduct code evaluations.
- Present newly developed products or features to the team and/or stakeholders.
- Participate in technical discussions with clients concerning data transfers (imports/exports) or custom development tasks.
- Engage in daily standup meetings, backlog refinement, estimation, and other Agile Scrum practices.
- Create CRUD stored procedures, user-defined functions, and other SQL components as necessary to deliver robust, scalable, and efficient solutions that meet technical specifications and support future requirements.
- Develop new functionalities and enhance existing applications, troubleshoot software-related issues, and manage dependencies.
- Perform additional related tasks as assigned.
Required Knowledge
- Proficiency in computer programming.
- Understanding of computer hardware and software.
- Expertise in T-SQL.
- Familiarity with Git source control.
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming.
- Understanding of source control methodologies.
- Proficiency in web application architecture.
- Familiarity with algorithms and data structures.
- Ability to document APIs, Windows services, and process workflows.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Three (3) years of professional programming experience.
- Two (2) years of experience with C#, JavaScript, and CSS/HTML.
- Two (2) years of experience with C# .NET 4.8+.
- Two (2) years of experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (Angular or React).
- Two (2) years of experience with Dependency Injection.
- Two (2) years of experience with Unit Testing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, mathematics, or related fields.
- Experience with ASP.NET Web API 2.
- Familiarity with AngularJS.
- Knowledge of the Agile development model (SCRUM, work assignments, timelines, and team structure).
- Experience in the oil, gas, or energy industry or SaaS business model.
Job Specifications
FLSA Classification: Exempt
Employment Type: Full Time
Travel Requirement: Up to 10% for annual meetings and events.
Work Environment: Hybrid Remote (TWP)
Shift: 8-hour shifts between 6 am–6 pm, M-F
Work Setting: Home Office, with occasional fieldwork.
