Job Title: Youth Development Professional - Art

Join the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northeast Florida team as a Youth Development Professional - Art, where you will play a vital role in fostering creativity and self-expression in young people.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for planning, supervising, and implementing a variety of art programs for members of all ages, including National Arts Contests, Drama Matters, Lyrism 101, Music Makers, Media Making, and National Photography Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement art programs that promote creativity and self-expression in young people.
  • Recruit and retain youth for art programs.
  • Work with other staff in the club to help implement programs throughout the school year.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to pass DCF Level II background screening and drug test.
  • Knowledge of youth development and ability to motivate youth and manage behavior issues.
  • Ability to work with the public and plan and implement quality programs specific to The Arts.
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
Work Environment

This position generally works Monday through Friday, hours between 2PM and 7PM, but may require longer hours outside of this schedule and occasional weekends when necessary. Work is conducted indoors and outdoors.

Physical and Mental Requirements
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for long periods of time; bending and squatting on occasion.
  • Ability to lift to 20 lbs. on occasion.
  • Ability to hear at a normal conversational level.
  • Ability to maintain high energy level when necessary.
  • High degree of emotional intelligence.
