MRI Technologist

UNC Health is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Caldwell Memorial Hospital. As a key member of our MRI Services department, you will be responsible for conducting procedures and tests using MRI equipment to acquire and analyze patient diagnostic data.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Identification and Safety: Verify patient identification, obtain patient history, and ensure patient safety throughout the imaging process.
- MRI Technology and Operations: Demonstrate knowledge of MRI and cross-sectional human anatomy, operate MRI scanners, and maintain active status with ARRT or ARMRIT by accruing CE's when needed.
- Contrast Administration: Administer oral contrast to adult and pediatric patients according to protocols, establish intravenous lines, and administer IV contrast following safe and proper injection procedures.
- Image Transfer and Quality Control: Maintain thorough understanding of PACS, transmit images to QC, UNCH's EMR, EPIC, and PACS, and verify and segment images at the QC station.
- Other Duties: Perform tasks in a timely manner, run the schedule creating a consistent workflow, volunteer to work on challenging tasks, and maintain a clean and orderly work environment.
- Education Requirements: Completion of an accredited educational program in Radiological Science or completion within 3 months at time of application.
- Licensure/Certification Requirements: Must be registered with the American Registry of Radiological Sciences, American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists, or registry eligible.
