Job Summary

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) plays a vital role in the interdisciplinary healthcare team, providing direct patient care and supporting administrative duties in a medical practice. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist medical and nursing staff with various tasks, including taking medical histories, recording vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
  • Perform routine administrative duties, such as answering telephones, updating patient records, and scheduling appointments.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic laboratory tests, and dispose of contaminated supplies.
  • Prepare patients for x-rays, tests, and procedures, and take electrocardiograms.
  • Administer medications as directed by a physician and authorize drug refills as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, NHA-CCMA, NCMA, or ARMA required; BLS Certification also required.
  • At least 1 year of clinical experience as a Medical Assistant in a clinical setting required for CMA II and CMA III levels.
