Job Summary:
CASES is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Court Advocate to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for advocating for young people involved in the criminal legal system, providing comprehensive support and services to help them achieve their goals and overcome challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the ATI Intake Team and ROAR orientation team to ensure seamless participant enrollment and support.
- Advocate for participants' continued participation in the program by presenting their engagement in program services to the criminal/supreme court judge.
- Develop written reports for advocacy efforts and establish and maintain relationships with court and legal stakeholders.
- Conduct orientations for new participants, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of expectations and opportunities for the duration of the program and beyond.
- Support the development and maintenance of individual service plans, addressing needs and establishing measurable timeframes to meet objectives and goals.
- Liaise between the courts and the program to ensure clear directives and expectations are communicated and participant progress is shared with court stakeholders.
- Conduct outreach efforts to engage participants in services, including home visits and in-community outreach.
- Participate in team meetings, collaborative service planning, and borough-based team meetings, supervision, and training.
- Perform crisis response services as required and work flexible hours when necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree with court experience or master's degree in a relevant field.
- At least two years of experience working with young people involved in the criminal legal system.
- Commitment to serving court-involved young people at high risk for recidivism.
- Excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
- Highly organized and self-motivated.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Fluency in Spanish.
