Primary Care Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Primary Care Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Sanitas Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our medical center.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide quality, comprehensive inpatient and outpatient primary health care services to patients. They will report directly to the Medical Director regarding clinical issues and activities related to the delivery of medical care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain health history and perform physical examinations.
  • Diagnose and direct counseling for each patient on a plan for treatment.
  • Prescribe medication in accordance with state statute and professional practice guidelines.
  • Maintain a problem-oriented health record for each patient seen in accordance with the Centers established Health Information Management policies and procedures.
  • Assure continuity of care by providing comprehensive medical services on a timely basis as per Clinic schedule within the Centers scope of practice and the providers training.
  • Provide excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, videoconference, chat, or face-to-face contact to assist patients with their health care needs.
  • Perform minor surgical procedures.
  • Arrange referral for patients requiring services not offered at Medical Center.
  • Review incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG) sign, date and follow-up in a timely manner.
  • Follows established departmental and medical center policies, procedures, and objectives; continuous quality improvements objectives and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.
  • Participate in specified health promotion, education and/or prevention programs as needed.
  • Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
  • Assist in outside medical public relations functions.
  • Train, mentor and supervise students and clinical support staff, as appropriate.
  • Supervise mid-level practitioners (physician assistants and nurse practitioners).
Requirements:
  • Masters Degree from accredited Nursing/PA Program.
  • Valid State Nurse Practitioner License or PA license.
  • Current State D.E.A. Certificate.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in family practice setting.
  • Certification by one of the Nurse Practitioner certifying bodies (ANCC or AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) is required.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Two years of experience working with multi-cultural patient population delivering patient-centric programs that are high quality and cost effective.
