Pedodontics / Orthodontics Dental Assistant (Part-Time) - Patient Care Coordinator

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Pedodontics / Orthodontics Dental Assistant (Part-Time) to join our dynamic team at Great Expressions Dental Centers. As a key member of our clinical support team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our experienced dental team.
Responsibilities- Assist our dental team in preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, and maintaining a clean and organized environment.
- Prepare patients for dental procedures, educate them on proper oral hygiene techniques, and provide post-treatment care.
- Support dentists during procedures, anticipating their needs and ensuring smooth workflow.
- Perform basic dental procedures under the guidance of a licensed dentist.
- Manage appointment scheduling, maintain patient records accurately, and ensure seamless communication with our dental team.
- Previous dental assisting experience or relevant education is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
- Excellent organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and strong communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in dental software and technology is a plus.
Please note that specific state requirements apply. We require certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays in the following states:
- Connecticut: certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays.
- Florida: Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification and proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to expose X-rays).
- Georgia: CPR Certification, Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA) certification, and proof of formal training to expose X-rays.
- Massachusetts: CPR Certification, proof of formal training to expose X-rays, BORID certification, and annual CE requirements must be completed per state regulations.
- Michigan: Upon hiring, you are required to furnish evidence of X-ray training certification. If you do not possess certification at the time of hiring, you are granted an 8-week period to submit it.
- New Jersey: Proof of X-ray training.
- New York: Not applicable.
- Ohio: Proof of formal training to expose X-rays (including FDOH Permit to Expose X-rays).
- Texas: CPR Certification, TSBDE: TX State Board of Dental Examiners.
