The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in purchasing, with 5-10 years of experience in buyer, category manager, or purchasing manager roles. They will be responsible for managing supply chain purchasing, conducting supplier negotiations, and tracking performance using supplier scorecards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage supply chain purchasing, including raw materials, MRO, and finished components, while overseeing 2-3 buyers in the supply chain team.
- Conduct supplier negotiations on cost, delivery, and terms, and facilitate supplier/vendor meetings on price, quality, and delivery.
- Track supply chain performance using tools such as supplier scorecards, focusing on cost savings initiatives through value analysis, long-term purchase/supply agreements, and competitive supply chain benchmarking.
- Interact with other departments, including production control, manufacturing operations, quality, and engineering.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience as a buyer, category manager, or purchasing manager.
- Knowledge/experience with RFQs and/or negotiation experience in price, cost, delivery, and general experience in structuring purchasing agreements.
- Familiarity with fostering vendor/supplier relationships, creating a win-win approach.
- Exceptional communication skills and a customer service-oriented approach.
