Join the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT) team as a STEM Outreach Specialist and play a key role in the Army Educational Outreach Program (AEOP) Internships and Fellowships program. This is a unique opportunity to support the development of the next generation of STEM talent and contribute to the success of RIT's AEOP effort.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Support the AEOP Internships and Fellowships application process.
  • Manage the AEOP Internships and Fellowships program email account and phone number, replying to messages in a timely manner with a high level of customer service.
  • Track the onboarding process for all participants.
  • Manage all supplies, procurement, and inventory for the AEOP team.
  • Lead the STEM Research Journal administrative process for creation of annual abstract books.
  • Provide support to enrichment workshops, STEM Foundations, speaker series, recruitment at conferences, and coaching participants.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM, education, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in STEM outreach and education, with a focus on hands-on education and STEM careers.
  • 1-3 years of experience working with students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Outstanding customer service skills.
  • Experience in advising or mentoring students.
  • Familiarity with STEM educational and career paths.
  • Experience in STEM research.
  • Experience in working with people from groups historically underserved in STEM.
  • Knowledge of college readiness curriculums, including soft skill and middle skill development.
