Job OverviewMcHenry & Horan, P.C. is a renowned medical malpractice defense firm with a legacy of excellence in litigation. We are seeking a talented Associate Attorney to join our Medical Malpractice team in our Uniondale office. This role offers a unique opportunity for professional growth and advancement in a dynamic and collegial work environment.

As a key member of our team, you will work collaboratively with senior litigators to develop litigation strategies, draft and review pleadings and discovery, and represent clients in court. Your expertise will be essential in analyzing medical records, interacting with medical experts, and conducting legal and medical research. You will also be responsible for drafting motions, working cooperatively with others, and interacting with clients.

Responsibilities
  • Develop litigation strategies for the defense of medical malpractice actions
  • Draft and review pleadings and discovery, memos, briefs, and other legal correspondence and litigation documents
  • Analyze medical records and represent clients in court
  • Participate in depositions, conferences, hearings, and all other aspects of medical malpractice litigation
  • Interact with medical experts and conduct legal and medical research and analysis
  • Draft motions and work cooperatively with others
  • Interact with clients and manage multiple projects
Requirements
  • Admission to practice in New York
  • At least 3 years of experience in medical malpractice/healthcare litigation
  • Strong legal research, writing, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interact with clients and command client confidence
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly
