About the Role:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the Carilion Clinic team as a skilled Maintenance Generalist. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of basic and intermediate mechanical and preventive maintenance tasks, as well as inspections, servicing, repair, and overhaul of equipment and facilities.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Investigate and resolve maintenance issues, collaborating with other facility personnel to ensure timely completion of all approved projects.
  • Perform routine maintenance duties, including cleaning, assembling, moving, installing, operating, testing, and servicing portable and fixed equipment, associated mechanical equipment, and fixtures.
  • Detect and repair malfunctions, maintain and repair machinery and mechanical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, manufacturer's specifications, written and oral instructions.
  • Document and maintain all required records and information pertinent to assignments, work orders, instruction manuals, blueprints, and other such materials as required.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and recommend improvements to management.
Requirements:

Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Trade or vocational school with maintenance curriculum geared towards repairs preferred.

Experience: Three years of experience in maintenance required, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: Valid Virginia Driver's License preferred for positions in the hospitals and required for Property Maintenance positions.

Other Minimum Qualifications: Good interpersonal and teamwork skills, ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and others, and ability to use a computerized work order control system.
