Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and reliable Substitute Bus Driver to join our team at Pinnacle Charter School. As a Substitute Bus Driver, you will be responsible for transporting students to and from school and/or field trips in a safe and secure manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform state-required inspections of the bus prior to each trip.
  • Report any vehicle malfunctions, defects, or concerns to the Transportation Supervisor immediately.
  • Follow all federal, state, and local laws for transporting students.
  • Transport students to and from school and/or field trips per the school-provided route and schedule.
  • Treat all students calmly and respectfully.
  • Record and report student incidents as they occur on the route or at designated stops.
  • Accurately record mileage per procedures defined by the supervisor.
  • Ensure maintenance and cleaning schedules are completed.
  • Check the bus after each run for students and/or left behind items.
  • Ensure the bus is properly parked and locked inside the Pinnacle gate prior to leaving.
Requirements
  • Must possess a valid Colorado Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with an S endorsement.
  • Ability to communicate while appreciating the diverse background of students, parents, peers, and the community.
  • Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.

Working Conditions

Occasional exposure to airborne particles, fumes, and outdoor weather conditions. Normal school bus environment with moderate to high noise level.
