Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach assigned classes under the supervision of the area dean.
  • Help students fulfill their maximum potential in mastering course content.
  • Assess student learning outcomes.
  • Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge in the regular teaching field.
  • Continuing professional development.
  • Utilize current technology in the performance of job duties.
  • Maintain standards of professional conduct and ethics appropriate to the professional position.
  • Assist with articulation and curriculum development and review.
  • Serve on college committees and participate in faculty governance, including accreditation and student co-curricular activities.
  • Assume other responsibilities as assigned by the area dean.
Requirements
  1. A master's degree or Master of Fine Arts in drama/theater arts/performance, or a bachelor's degree in drama/theater arts/performance and a master's degree in comparative literature, English, communication studies, speech, literature, or humanities, or the equivalent.
  2. An equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in teaching courses across all levels in Theatre Arts.
  • Knowledge of curriculum development and review.
  • Ability to utilize current technology in the performance of job duties.
