Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly skilled Advanced Practice Provider to join our Cardiovascular Medicine team at Mercy Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care, collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals, and contribute to the development of our cardiovascular medicine services.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough medical histories, perform complete physical examinations, and initiate appropriate lab and radiology tests to establish a record of the patient's current health status and develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians to provide comprehensive patient care, including developing and implementing treatment plans, prescribing medications, and ordering diagnostic tests.
  • Perform routine procedures such as injections, immunotherapy, suturing, and wound care, as well as assist in the management of complex illnesses and injuries.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, including information on disease management, treatment options, and preventive health measures.
  • Participate in medical team rounds, collaborate with nursing and other healthcare team members, and ensure continuity of care by serving as a liaison between patients and other members of the multidisciplinary care team.
  • Assist in data analysis, participate in quality monitoring, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards for inpatient management.
  • May serve as a clinical preceptor for PA/APRN students and other health professionals, and may serve as faculty for onboarding new employees.
Requirements
  • APRN: Master's degree in nursing, nationally certified as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse, and licensed as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the applicable state.
  • PA: Graduate of an ARC-approved Physician Assistant Program, Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies, and licensed by the State Medical Board of Ohio.
  • Current certification as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA (or successor), and must have a Physician Supervision Agreement and/or signed addendum to Physician Supervision Agreement.
  • Must be privileged by CCF's Credentialing Board.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required based upon work setting.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Two years of clinical advanced practice nursing experience for APRNs, and two years of relative clinical experience for PAs.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills, strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to work as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Demonstrated competency and ability to perform advanced assessment and diagnosis, and demonstrated ability to utilize the electronic medical record.
