Job Summary

Middlebury College seeks a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to provide support to various work groups within the Operations Department. This full-time position comes with an estimated annual salary of $38,743 - $48,165.

Duties and Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and maintain institutional equipment to complete assigned tasks efficiently and safely.
  • Facilities Cleaning and Maintenance: Clean, maintain, and disinfect all interior and exterior components of college facilities, including contents.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Perform tasks such as mowing, trimming, weeding, watering, mulching, and snow removal duties.
  • Waste Management: Collect and remove all trash, recycling, and compost, ensuring spaces are outfitted with appropriate bins and signage.
Requirements

To succeed in this role, you must have:

  • Strong Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to read and accurately interpret floor plans, execute event diagrams, and associated written instructions.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Ability to follow oral and written instructions, establish and maintain positive working relations, and develop and follow a schedule.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent lifting, bending, twisting, kneeling, squatting, walking, and stair/ladder climbing required.
