The Senior Director of Development, Veterinary Medical Complex will be responsible for leading the development efforts for the Veterinary Medical Complex, a critical component of the UC Davis Health System. This role will oversee the development of strategic plans, build relationships with key stakeholders, and secure funding to support the complex's mission and goals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve development goals for the Veterinary Medical Complex
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including faculty, staff, alumni, and external partners
  • Secure funding to support the complex's mission and goals, including major gifts, grants, and corporate sponsorships
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement fundraising campaigns and events
  • Provide leadership and guidance to development staff and volunteers
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in a related field, such as business, non-profit management, or public health
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in development, fundraising, or a related field
  • Proven track record of securing major gifts and developing strategic plans
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a healthcare or academic setting
  • Knowledge of development principles and practices
  • Experience with fundraising software and databases
  • Ability to travel and work flexible hours
