Candler County Hospital is seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team in Metter, GA.
Job Summary:The Surgical Technologist will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and support in the operating room. This includes preparing patients for surgery, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting surgeons and nurses during procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare patients for surgery by washing and disinfecting the area, and preparing necessary equipment and instruments.
- Maintain a sterile environment in the operating room, including cleaning and disinfecting surgical instruments and equipment.
- Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures, including passing instruments and supplies.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and report any changes to the surgical team.
- Assist with the transportation of patients to and from the operating room.
- Participate in the maintenance of a clean and organized operating room environment.
- Associate Degree or two-year course in a related field, or four years of experience as a technician with an impressive track record.
- Basic knowledge of nursing and operating room procedures.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
The Surgical Technologist will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. The ability to multitask and prioritize tasks is essential. The position requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 25 pounds, and exposure to communicable and infectious diseases.
