Key Responsibilities:

  • Exemplify a service-oriented mindset, proactively addressing challenges and fostering a friendly atmosphere for residents, patients, and staff.
  • Ensure the safety of residents, visitors, and team members by identifying and reporting safety hazards.
  • Maintain a reliable attendance record.
  • Oversee the recruitment, training, coaching, and evaluation of departmental personnel.
  • Directly manage environmental services supervisors and team leads.
  • Utilize the Worx-Hub system for managing work orders and scheduling.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise environmental services operations within the facility.
  • Develop and uphold an environmental services procedure manual and policies.
  • Conduct regular inspections to guarantee cleanliness throughout the facility.
  • Create and maintain a checklist for routine environmental services tasks.
  • Prepare monthly staffing schedules in accordance with budgetary guidelines.
  • Process Environmental Services invoices while ensuring compliance with budget constraints.
  • Order necessary supplies and equipment within established budget limits.
  • Assist in the selection of supply vendors.
  • Identify and rectify potential safety issues.
  • Maintain compliance with all state and federal licensing requirements.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on cleaning and safety protocols.
  • Support laundry operations in the absence of the Shift Supervisor.
  • Participate in quality assurance rounds for Environmental Services on a weekly basis.
  • Oversee employee timekeeping and ensure accurate documentation.
  • Utilize appropriate cleaning chemicals and equipment for designated areas.
  • Conduct weekly inspections of janitorial closets to ensure proper maintenance.
  • Report maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
  • Collaborate with other departments on significant projects.
  • Prepare rooms for new admissions.
  • Maintain flooring as required.
  • Assist with furniture movement as needed.
  • Support Laundry and Floor Technicians as necessary.
  • Perform housekeeping duties as required due to staff absences.
  • Coordinate with other departments for event setups and activities.
  • Fulfill additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating effectively in English.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in institutional housekeeping or maintenance, preferably in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
  • At least two years of demonstrated supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Computer proficiency, including skills in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Experience with computerized housekeeping management systems is a plus.
  • Genuine compassion for and interest in caring for older adults and individuals with disabilities.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job.
  • Commitment to upholding the Resident Bill of Rights and Employee Responsibilities.
  • Adherence to organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures.
