Job Summary

As a Counselor at the University of Vermont, you will provide confidential and respectful counseling services to undergraduate and graduate students. Your expertise will be sought by students, faculty, and staff to address mental health issues, and you will play a key role in promoting a culture of equity, anti-oppression, and social justice within the university community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Consult with students, faculty, and staff to provide counseling services and support
  • Develop and implement outreach programs to promote mental health awareness and support
  • Collaborate with university departments to provide administrative and clinical supervision
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices in counseling and mental health services
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in counseling or a related field
  • Licensed or ability to be licensed in Vermont as a Psychologist-Masters, Mental Health Counselor, or Clinical Social Worker
  • Experience working with college-age issues and a commitment to fostering a collaborative equity and social justice-focused environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Training and experience in therapeutic support and racially responsive clinical services for BIPOC students
  • Knowledge of historic and current issues facing BIPOC students
  • Expertise in outreach and engagement with historically marginalized groups

The University of Vermont offers a competitive salary range of $57,000 to $71,000, as well as a comprehensive benefits package.
