Zen Educate is seeking dedicated individuals who are committed to enhancing the educational experiences of children with special needs. As a Special Education Paraprofessional, you will collaborate with licensed educators to provide tailored support in academic settings, focusing on the unique requirements of students with various disabilities, including health, sensory, physical, and behavioral challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed educators in both classroom and community environments.
- Engage with individual students or small groups during instructional activities.
- Offer support to students experiencing crises.
- Provide personal care to students under the guidance of licensed staff.
- Employ diverse teaching methods to enrich students' learning experiences.
- Celebrate and acknowledge the achievements of students, both large and small.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with children in an educational setting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 60 college credits, an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on an appropriate ADE assessment.
- Prior experience in special education environments.
- Background as a Behavioral Technician or Personal Care Assistant.
- Training in Crisis Prevention (CPI).
- CPR certification.
Additional Requirements:
- Applicants must possess US Work Authorization; Zen Educate does not offer sponsorship for employment visas or relocation assistance.
- Proficiency in English is required.
