Radiology Technologist Job Description

At Sarah Bush Lincoln, we are seeking a skilled Radiology Technologist to join our team. As a Radiology Technologist, you will be responsible for performing quality radiology procedures in a safe and efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately identify and document patient information, including consent and orders.
  • Position patients and body parts for radiologic exams, using proper collimation and patient shielding.
  • Operate and maintain department-specific equipment, ensuring proper cleaning and operations checks.
  • Perform CT exams, setting and adjusting complex electronic equipment as needed.
  • Administer intravenous contrast media products under the guidance of a Radiologist.
  • Process images to the PACS system and utilize the Hospital Information System (HIS) to obtain patient information and complete charges.
  • Follow proper policy and protocol for procedures, as outlined in protocol guides and hospital policy.
  • Provide accurate and high-quality images, utilizing ALARA principles to reduce radiation exposure.
  • Document radiation dose and contrast use in patient charts, and remain current on knowledge of Creatine & GFR levels.
Requirements:
  • ARRT-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification.
  • BLS or CPR certification within 90 days of hire.
  • IEMA-Illinois Emergency Management Agency certification.
