Overview

This role will play a vital part in Fleet Management by evaluating and addressing financial statement inquiries from designated operational units.

The Accountant will be responsible for generating reports through the development of system queries and creating necessary process documentation. This position also involves managing general ledger accounts, analyzing financial reports, resolving discrepancies, and preparing end-of-month entries.

Compensation
This position offers a competitive salary range of $53,000 - $63,000 annually, commensurate with relevant experience and skill level.

Work Environment
The Accountant role is a full-time, hybrid position with a schedule of Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM CST. This position requires in-office attendance two days a week.

Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and analysis of financial statements for selected Fleet Management units
  • Compilation of bank reconciliations and account schedules
  • Preparation of journal entries, expense accruals, and allocations
  • Participation in a timely and accurate month-end closing process
  • Analysis of income statement variances for assigned branches
  • Contribution of process improvement and cost-saving suggestions
  • Support for budgeting and forecasting activities
  • Management of travel and expense reports, including coding and account classification
  • Preparation of financial schedules for selected Fleet Management units
  • Assistance with accounting and technical inquiries for all Fleet Management units
  • Completion of departmental reports and analyses
  • Engagement in special projects as needed

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must reside in the state of Missouri or Illinois
  • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is required
  • CPA or CMA certification is preferred
  • A minimum of one year of accounting experience is preferred
  • Must be willing to accept a salary between $53,000 and $63,000 based on experience
  • Must meet all technical requirements for remote work
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship

Competency-Based Qualifications:
Candidates should demonstrate strengths in communication, customer service, attention to detail, execution, flexibility, resilience, teamwork, and the ability to work from home.

Technical Requirements:
Applicants must have reliable high-speed internet access provided by a terrestrial cable or fiber provider, with a minimum upload speed of 5Mb and download speed of 25Mb. Connection latency must be less than 100ms.
