The Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Preoperative Patient Care Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our Surgical Services department, this individual will play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient care and coordination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with hospitalists, gastroenterologists, and clinic staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of patients.
- Coordinate appointments and testing for specialty services, ensuring timely and efficient care.
- Communicate effectively with medical staff to ensure clear understanding of patient care plans.
- Contribute to the overall health care continuum for qualifying patients, promoting optimal outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related field.
- Minimum of three years of related clinical nursing experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs.
- Licensure as a registered nurse.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
