As a key member of our team at Zoppas Industries Heating Element Technologies, you will play a crucial role in developing and deploying innovative projects that transform ideas into reality. Your expertise in engineering, combined with your experience in metal fabrication and forming, will enable you to create industrial heating element systems that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conceptualize and design industrial heating element systems, selecting materials and processes to ensure optimal results.
  • Prepare and quote effective designs, analysis, component selection, and performance information for existing or new programs.
  • Manage the product life cycle, continuously reviewing and improving existing products for enhancements and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing to resolve any problems encountered in the fabrication and production process.
  • Utilize business ERP systems to create and update new part numbers, bill of materials, and models with minimal assistance.
  • Process and review ECNs, understanding their impact on the organization and customers.
  • Assume ownership of individual projects and assignments, providing guidance to less experienced technicians or engineers.
  • Make technical presentations internally and for customers, including trade show support.
  • Review and update Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA) and perform engineering calculations to ensure product designs and components meet approved UL test files.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
  • 5+ years of design engineering experience, including metal fabrication and forming.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively as a team player.
  • Disciplined in structured methods and deploying products with structured logic.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Controls / Systems is preferred.
  • Experience in Aerospace Platforms, Industrial, HVAC, or Railway is preferred.
  • Desired competency in UL 1995, UL , UL , UL 484, UL 499, and UL 1996 would be a plus.
  • Desired knowledge of Railway Industry Standards APTA-PR-E, EN 60077, NFPA 70, and NFPA 130 would be a plus.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office programs.
