KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage patient appointment scheduling and provide exceptional customer service.
  • Oversee collections and medical billing processes.
  • Conduct insurance verifications and obtain prior authorizations.
  • Facilitate incoming and outgoing referrals.
  • Register patients and confirm their insurance details.
  • Coordinate scheduling for diagnostic imaging services.
  • Transmit correspondence and medical records via mail, email, or fax.
  • Schedule and confirm patient diagnostic appointments, surgeries, and consultations.
  • Answer phone calls and direct them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Receive and route messages and documents, including laboratory results, to relevant staff.
  • Collect patient information and maintain accurate patient records, adhering to HIPAA and confidentiality regulations.
  • Research and arrange necessary medical procedures.
  • Send chart reviews to healthcare providers regarding patient medications prior to procedures.
  • Distribute patient information related to upcoming medical procedures.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Completion of high school education, supplemented by specialized courses or training.
  • Experience in third-party medical billing with knowledge of coding is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is preferred.
  • A minimum of three years of office experience or billing certification from an accredited institution is advantageous.
