Job Overview:


The SQL Reporting Specialist is responsible for designing and enhancing queries and reports based on client specifications, ensuring the implementation of best practices in query and layout design that align with the client's use case.

This role involves gathering requirements for new reports and analyzing data entities to create queries and reports that fulfill those requirements.


Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with end clients, effectively representing the engineering team.
- Assess, refine, and document project requirements to align with client needs, while keeping the Project Manager informed of any potential risks.
- Work remotely to achieve development and design goals, adhering to company policies regarding security, change management, and data protection.

Specific Duties:
- Recommend strategies for query and report implementation to meet client SSRS reporting needs.
- Analyze existing report samples and relational databases to develop effective queries.
- Utilize deep knowledge of ANSI SQL and Microsoft SQL Server for relational database analysis and report query development.
- Apply query validation techniques to ensure accurate elements are utilized when reverse engineering legacy reports.
- Implement SSRS report layout best practices, balancing modern reporting needs with user familiarity.
- Ensure proper publication and security of reports following SSRS best practices.

Required Skills:
- Comprehensive understanding of relational databases and the ability to reverse engineer database designs.
- Proficient in SQL for creating functional queries, including knowledge of joins, subqueries, and common SQL Server functions.
- Experience with parameter query construction and integration into reports.
- Knowledge of subreports and their development and integration.
- Understanding of query performance assessment and design choices that enhance performance.
- Strong multitasking, prioritization, and time management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and professional communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and possess a valid Driver's License.
- Proven experience in analyzing relational datasets and developing queries and reports.
- Familiarity with report design, development, and publication processes related to relational databases and SSRS.
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and training skills to engage with diverse teams.

Working Environment:


This role is a Professional Services contract position, conducted remotely with the necessary equipment and connectivity to fulfill project requirements.
