Reports To: Warehouse Superintendent/Warehouse Supervisor

Position Summary:

The Steel Processor is responsible for handling materials, performing routine machinery maintenance, and executing general warehouse tasks. This includes retrieving steel for customer orders and managing the loading and unloading of delivery vehicles.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate and adjust machinery safely to ensure optimal performance.
  • Process materials accurately to reduce waste and ensure efficiency.
  • Identify and locate stock with precision.
  • Complete necessary paperwork for material handling and production tracking.
  • Tag, band, and package materials appropriately for shipping.
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
  • Provide assistance and support to customers and colleagues.
  • Perform warehouse duties as required when processing tasks are unavailable.
  • Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned to support company objectives.
  • Consistent attendance is crucial for this role.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED is required.

A strong mechanical aptitude is essential.

Previous experience in a warehouse or related field is preferred.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team with minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in reading measuring tools, blueprints, and work orders.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Strong reading, writing, and mathematical skills as demonstrated by a pre-employment assessment.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs independently, pushing, pulling, standing, and climbing for the majority of the workday.
