About this opportunity

We are seeking a talented and motivated student to join our Process Engineering team as a Co-op Process Engineer. As a Co-op Process Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work alongside industry-leading professionals on meaningful and diverse projects, gaining valuable experience and skills to build a successful career.

Responsibilities

  • Perform unit tests and analyze operating data to improve profitability.
  • Assist staff engineers with designs of less complex equipment such as piping, pumps, heat exchangers, tanks, etc.
  • Provide operating data for planning, operations improvement, economic evaluations, etc.
  • Assist staff engineers with troubleshooting to determine causes and solutions to operating problems.
  • Maintain and develop key performance indicators (KPIs) for the process units.

Requirements

  • Available to begin work on January 6, 2025.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States.
  • As this position requires the operation of a motor vehicle, a valid US Driver's License is required.
  • Previous experience is considered an asset.
  • Strong attitude for carrying out all work in a safe, cautious manner while following safe work practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering.
  • Preference will be given to students in 3rd or 4th year.
  • Availability for multiple work terms is preferred.
  • Strong academic performance.
  • Ability to work 40 hours per week during the scheduled semester.

Working Conditions

This is a safety-sensitive role and as such, you will also be required to wear all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) during required work hours. Furthermore, you will also be required to pass the Cenovus pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol assessment requirements.

Relocation

Students moving for their work term may be eligible to receive a lump sum payment to assist with relocation expenses.
