Community Services Program Supervisor

Position Overview
The primary aim of this role is to oversee community service initiatives and advocate for client rights. This position involves consulting with service providers, identifying service gaps, formulating strategies, and developing new programs to address community needs. The role operates independently with limited supervision, providing updates on key activities through regular meetings.
Key Responsibilities
The following responsibilities are essential to this position. Additional tasks may be assigned as necessary.
- Supervise, guide, and assess the performance of assigned personnel, addressing employee concerns, directing tasks, providing counseling, and conducting performance evaluations.
- Organize, allocate, and review work assignments while establishing work schedules; maintain operational standards; monitor ongoing projects; inspect completed tasks; provide guidance and support as needed.
- Direct citizens to governmental, community, and social service organizations for assistance.
- Design and implement community service programs, strategies, policies, and services aimed at protecting and addressing community needs.
- Assess the effectiveness of youth service initiatives and propose enhancements.
- Identify client issues and evaluate their needs across various domains, including workplace, family dynamics, healthcare, social services, and the criminal justice system.
- Engage with individuals and agencies in social services, public health, and criminal justice to promote and implement community projects and programs.
- Coordinate efforts with various departments, professionals, and community organizations to form coalitions advocating for citizen rights and concerns.
- Participate in community meetings and groups to provide information, address inquiries, and discuss issues related to social service programs.
- Contribute to task forces and committees aimed at enhancing the quality of life for clients.
- Research and connect with organizations to gather and disseminate information on innovative practices and programs.
- Oversee the creation and distribution of informational materials, brochures, and multimedia presentations.
- Develop and deliver educational and training sessions for groups and organizations.
- Analyze statistical data and prepare comprehensive reports on program activities.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Criminal Justice, Human or Social Services, or a related field is required.
Three (3) years of experience in social work, community service, program development, or a related area, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
Physical Requirements
This position requires sedentary work, with occasional walking or standing, and the ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force regularly.
Work Environment
There are no unavoidable hazards associated with this role.
Certifications
Must possess a valid state driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record and provide personal transportation.
