Medical Director

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medical Director to join our team at the Guidance Center of Lea County. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the medical practice of our nursing and nurse practitioner staff, ensuring compliance with community standards of care and state and federal laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement medical policies, procedures, and programs to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Provide psychiatric expertise for complex cases and oversee quality assurance systems.
- Coordinate and supervise the medical practice of nursing and nurse practitioner staff.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and community standards of care.
- Develop and recommend department goals, objectives, and policies.
- Medical degree (M.D.) from an accredited school of medicine recognized by The National Board of Medical Examiners.
- Certification from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
- Unrestricted and current license to practice medicine in the State of New Mexico.
- Controlled Substance Registration Certificate from the United States Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration.
- Substantial experience and expertise in medical policy development, program administration, and clinical management.
This is an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act, requiring 40 hours per week, generally Monday through Friday. Hours of day may vary according to need. Travel may be required for delivery of services, training, or conferences.
