Job Title: Group Exercise Instructor

Join the YMCA of the Virginia Peninsulas team as a Group Exercise Instructor and play a vital role in promoting healthy lifestyles and community engagement.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Group Exercise Instructor to lead fitness classes and create a positive and supportive environment for our members. As a Group Exercise Instructor, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging and effective group exercise programs that cater to diverse fitness levels and interests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver group exercise programs that meet the needs and interests of our members.
  • Lead group exercise classes, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with members, promoting a sense of community and belonging.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure seamless delivery of programs and services.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in group exercise programming.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Nationally recognized Group Exercise (GE) certification.
  • 2-6 years of experience in group exercise instruction, depending on the level of certification.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED/O2 certification.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
