Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and construct resilient, high-performance IT systems that can scale effectively.
  • Oversee the implementation and management of:
    • Computational and storage solutions tailored for machine learning, big data analytics, and Kubernetes environments.
    • Data management and archival systems.
  • Execute DevOps functions, including:
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Develop and sustain IaC using tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation for automated infrastructure provisioning.
    • Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline software delivery, encompassing code compilation, testing, and deployment.
    • Monitoring and Alerting: Establish and uphold monitoring systems to ensure optimal performance and availability of systems and applications.
    • Security and Compliance: Work alongside security teams to enforce best practices in security, including vulnerability assessments and compliance with industry standards.
  • Manage and maintain hybrid cloud infrastructures.

  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues across various operating systems and hardware.
  • Adapt to tight deadlines and resource constraints with a proactive approach.
  • Embrace a flexible work ethic, ready to tackle tasks of any size.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years in Linux systems engineering.
  • Proficient in containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Experience with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef.
  • Hands-on knowledge of cloud services including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with monitoring solutions like Prometheus or Grafana.
  • Proficient in scripting/automation using languages such as Bash or Python.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in developing IT infrastructure for engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with VMware deployment and high availability setups.
  • Knowledge of data security best practices and their implementation.
  • Experience in managing physical and virtual servers in enterprise environments.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to provide after-hours support as needed.
  • Experience in establishing remote work environments.
  • Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or engineering.
