This 32-bed telemetry monitored unit provides PCU-level care with some medical/telemetry overflow. It is our primary stroke unit, managing respiratory and cardiac patients. The unit is staffed at a 1:3-4 patient ratio, consistent with national standards of care.
Responsibilities- Provides continuous cardiac monitoring and arrhythmia recognition.
- Initiates and titrates multiple complex cardiac-related infusions at higher doses.
- Manages high-flow and bipap patients.
- Manages patients with acute neurological/neurosurgical events.
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing (BSN preferred).
- Previous PCU or ICU experience (preferred).
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse issued by the Washington State Board of Nursing.
- Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS Certification.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or attainment within six months of hire.
