EDI Operations Analyst Job Description

SWBC is seeking a highly skilled EDI Operations Analyst to join our team. As an EDI Operations Analyst, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth exchange of electronic data between our organization and external trading partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and support the implementation of new EDI solutions, including UAT validation and testing.
  • Provide analysis, support, and recommendations to external trading partners and internal resources for opportunities to improve EDI penetration.
  • Oversee the cadence for 266/lienholder provisions to partners to reduce mail volumes and improve efficiency.
  • Assist senior analysts in identifying automation opportunities for 266 and 824 production and consumption.
  • Maintain engagement with EDW/reporting teams for pertinent reporting modifications and/or expansion for EDI progress.
  • Establish and maintain proper meeting cadence with existing trading partners and aggregators, ensuring timely follow-ups and dissemination of information to management.
  • Support and monitor EDI projects to improve EDI efficiency and effectiveness, coordinating schedules, creating Business Request Documents (BRD), and business change requests.
  • Perform quality checks and analysis of audits with existing carriers and clients, reporting findings and recommendations to management.
  • Coordinate with EDI trading partners to resolve level 2 issues and seek assistance from IT on non-standard transfers.
  • Troubleshoot and provide assistance to resolve transaction file issues and escalate complex issues to higher-level analysts.
  • Work with implementation and IT teams for new client setups and decommissions.
  • Support and monitor testing process for all EDI development, providing guidance and direction to SQA, UAT, and other testing participants.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree in Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in electronic data transfer, writing requirements, and analyzing solutions, or other related experience in a mortgage or insurance environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of EDI, XML, CXML, EDI standards of ASC X12, or other data interface formats deployed in an EDI solution.
  • Strong understanding of data files and data exchanges between computer systems.
  • Knowledge of Property & Casualty insurance policies and processes.
  • Able to communicate basic EDI terminology effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Strong knowledge and exposure to technical products like WTX, Axway Cyclone, WMQ, and other tools used in EDI solutions.
  • Strong understanding of EDI Transaction Sets as well as X.12 and other EDI standards.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and detailed-oriented skills.
  • Strong communication (both verbal and written) and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office to include MS Word and Excel.
