Job Overview

Madden Industrial Craftsmen is a leading provider of industrial services, seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join their team in Portland, OR. As a direct hire role, this position offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage fabrication projects from receipt of order through design, procurement, fabrication testing, shipment, installation, and start-up, ensuring timely completion and customer satisfaction.
  • Coordinate the effort and contributions of subordinate engineers and staff, delegating responsibilities effectively to achieve economic and timely results.
  • Interface with customers to design equipment, executing projects while considering customer needs, internal/external production capabilities, financial targets, and available resources.
  • Perform liaison work by contacting other departments (Purchasing, Manufacturing, Sales, etc.) and outside vendors to obtain services or pertinent information relative to functional needs.
  • Determine make versus buy decisions for various items of a project based on customer requirements, company strategy, and engineering management direction.
  • Prepare drawings and 3D models of various parts or products using Autodesk software products, incorporating a detailed understanding of manufacturing processes into designs.
  • Accept and manage product development projects, understanding and translating manufacturing process and capacity constraints associated with current sources for production.
  • Support quote generation for parts, service, and capital equipment by identifying requirements and providing summaries of costs and lead time.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (B.S.) in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, or equivalent from an accredited college or university; Associate's Degree with significant relevant experience may also be considered.
  • 4+ years of broad engineering experience, including areas such as product design, manufacturing methodology, tooling, and laboratory work.
  • Valid driver's license in the state of residence and insurability under the company's motor vehicle insurance policy.
Compensation and Benefits:
  • $90,000-$100,000/year base salary
  • Bonus opportunity worth up to 6% of base compensation
