Job Overview:
The Housekeeper is tasked with maintaining the cleanliness and organization of guest accommodations and shared facilities within the hotel. Responsibilities encompass daily upkeep, including room care, restroom sanitation, and window cleaning. The individual in this role is also responsible for notifying management of any missing items from guest rooms.

Key Responsibilities:

In Guestrooms, daily tasks may include:
  • Changing bed linens
  • Dusting and polishing furniture and wall decorations
  • Emptying waste receptacles
  • Sweeping and mopping hard surface floors, as well as vacuuming carpets
  • Cleaning windows and mirrors
  • Organizing pamphlets, remote controls, irons, ironing boards, luggage racks, and other amenities in designated areas
  • Adjusting room temperature to specified settings and replenishing items such as laundry bags, stationery, and coffee supplies
  • Reporting any broken or malfunctioning items, such as light bulbs or door locks, to maintenance or a supervisor
  • Ensuring no rearrangement of guest belongings

In Bathrooms:
  • Cleaning mirrors, sinks, toilets, showers, and bathtubs
  • Sweeping and mopping bathroom floors
  • Emptying trash bins and restocking towels and toiletries
  • Ensuring faucets are turned off and that shower curtains and toilet seats are correctly positioned before leaving
  • Alerting maintenance or supervisors of any issues, such as dripping faucets or damaged tiles
  • Ensuring no rearrangement of guest belongings

In Public Areas:
  • Maintaining cleanliness in common areas of the hotel
  • Vacuuming hallways and lobbies
  • Cleaning windows
  • Dusting and polishing furnishings
  • Cleaning restrooms, ensuring supplies like toilet paper, soap, and towels are stocked

Laundry Duties:
  • Laundering sheets, towels, and other linens

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Reporting missing items from guest rooms to management
  • Collecting and logging lost and found items
  • Occasionally flipping mattresses, changing mattress pads, bed skirts, and bedspreads, or spot cleaning furniture, carpets, and drapes
  • Performing other assigned duties as necessary

Essential Skills:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience in housekeeping preferred
  • Flexible schedule, including availability on weekends and holidays
  • Ability to prepare rooms efficiently while adhering to hotel standards
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Team-oriented attitude and willingness to support colleagues
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Working Conditions:
  • Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and lifting
  • Standing and walking for extended periods
  • Ability to communicate detailed instructions clearly
  • Visual acuity to assess the quality of work
