Job Summary:

The Safety and Risk Internal Process Manager plays a critical role in evaluating and enhancing the effectiveness of our safety and risk management processes, policies, and systems. This position requires a strong background in risk assessment methodologies and internal audit practices to provide valuable insights and recommendations to strengthen our governance framework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive internal audit plan focused on safety and risk management processes.
  • Conduct audits to evaluate the adequacy, effectiveness, and efficiency of internal controls related to safety and risk policies and systems.
  • Assess and analyze existing safety and risk management processes to identify gaps, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to document and map processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
  • Review and assess the organization's safety and risk policies to ensure they are current, comprehensive, and aligned with best practices.
  • Provide recommendations for policy enhancements based on audit findings and industry trends.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of risk management systems and tools in identifying, monitoring, and mitigating safety risks.
  • Work with IT and operational teams to ensure that systems are properly integrated and functioning as intended.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings, risk assessments, and actionable recommendations.
  • Present audit findings to management and stakeholders, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Use data to build the business case for making a change to current practices, programs, or procedures.
  • Partner with stakeholders on the design, testing, implementation, and evaluation of process changes to improve business outcomes.
  • Support the development of training materials and programs to enhance safety and risk awareness among employees.
  • Facilitate workshops and presentations to promote best practices in safety and risk management.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging risks to ensure the organization's safety and risk management practices remain proactive and effective.
  • Contribute to the development of audit methodologies and tools to enhance audit effectiveness.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Risk Management, Safety Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of risk assessment frameworks and internal audit standards.
  • Proficient in data analysis and audit software tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and concisely.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments and build strong relationships with stakeholders.
