Pediatric Medical Assistant Job Description

Central Oregon Pediatric Associates (COPA) is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Medical Assistant to join our team. As a Pediatric Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care to children of all ages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Escort patients to exam rooms, collect patient history, and vital signs.
  • Conduct screening tests and other screening tools, grading them as appropriate.
  • Provide necessary medical information at the time of visit.
  • Document patient care and response to care in the patient's medical record.
  • Administer pediatric immunizations accurately and efficiently.
  • Utilize Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems effectively.
  • Plan, organize, and prioritize patient care effectively.
  • Perform treatments as ordered by physicians in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Calculate safe medication doses and administer medications following the Seven Medication Rights.
  • Assist with procedures, prepare and sterilize instruments, and maintain clinical skills.
  • Provide phlebotomy services and follow up on orders.
  • Assist with patient orientation and provide support to physicians and providers.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant, Licensed Practical Nurse, Emergency Medical Technician, or Paramedic training program.
  • Certification commensurate with training within 60 days of hire.
  • Current CPR for Healthcare Provider certification.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Pediatric experience.
  • Epic EMR experience.
  • Bilingual in Spanish and English.
