Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist team in the operations of the billing department, including coding, charge entry, and claims submissions.
  • Analyze billing and claims for accuracy and completeness, submit claims to proper insurance entities, and follow up and resolve any claim submittal issues.
  • Collect and compile accurate statistical reports.
  • Assist with audits to monitor and improve efficiency of billing.
  • Ensure that billing operations are conducted in a manner consistent with overall department protocol and in compliance with Federal, State, and payer regulations, guidelines, and requirements.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience in Medical Billing.
  • Working knowledge of CPT, HCPC, ICD-9/ICD-10 codes, CMS 1500 claim forms, HIPAA, and billing and insurance regulations.
  • Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) skills.
  • Detail-oriented and tolerant of frequent interruptions and distractions.
  • Excellent mathematical, written, and verbal communication skills.
