Medical Coding Specialist

HCMS Napa LLC is seeking a skilled Medical Coding Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Coding Specialist, you will be responsible for analyzing and coding medical data to ensure accurate and efficient billing and claims submissions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyzing and coding medical data to ensure accurate and efficient billing and claims submissions
- Working knowledge of CPT, HCPC, ICD-9/ICD-10 codes, CMS 1500 claim forms, HIPAA, billing and insurance regulations, medical terminology, insurance benefits, and the appeal process
- Assisting team in the operations of the billing department, encompassing coding, charge entry, and claims submissions
- Collaborating with entire Billing team on training and problem resolution
- Developing and maintaining an effective working relationship with team members, clients & staff, and patients
Requirements:
- 2-3 years of experience in medical billing and coding
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Word & Excel), and medical billing software
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
