Job Title: Lead Financial Accountant

Estimated Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience.

We are looking for an experienced Lead Financial Accountant to join our accounting team. As a key member of the team, you will focus on accurate financial reporting, compliance, and financial analysis. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and well-versed in SSAP, with a strong background in financial accounting.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct month-end and year-end closing processes, reconciling accounts and resolving discrepancies
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with SSAP
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends and insights, providing recommendations to management
  • Prepare and organize NAIC filings to meet each state's regulatory requirements
  • Preparation of tax documentation and compliance with state and federal tax regulations
  • Collaborate with external auditors and support the audit process, providing necessary documentations, responses, and explanations
  • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as needed

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 5 years of accounting experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis
  • Strong knowledge of NAIC reporting, SSAP, and other financial reporting standards
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, or similar)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • A self-driven and proactive individual who takes ownership of their work
  • CPA or other relevant certification is a plus
